Housing Life Cycle

In interior design I learned about physical and psychological needs. We also learned about housing life cycles. As I said earlier there are physical and psychological needs for housing. There are 5 physical needs, they are shelter, sleep, food preparation, storage, and safety. If one thing is missing from the physical needs then your house can be harder to live in. For an example the show hoarders, most of the time they don't have a very good shelter and sometimes they have to sleep in their cars, sleep is always in a messy area, their food area is a disaster and most of the time covered in bugs or mold, living as a hoarder you risk safety. Psychological is just as equally important as well. We need Love/Belonging, privacy, creativity, and identity.
The life cycle goes from young adults, young families, launching, and empty nesters. The housing life cycle is houses/ homes for these different people, like people around the age of 22 will normally have an apartment because they have typically gotten out of college. Normally most people around the age of 33 will just be just starting a family so they will be getting a house or looking for one. Once you get to the age around 42 your children will either be graduating from high school or going college so they have more room in their houses. Finally the people around 75 or older start to move somewhere with less space. Some people even life in apartments most of their adult lives and that's okay too.
A home is where you hang your hat. It needs love, privacy, creativity, and identity to survive. But you cant forget that it needs to shelter you, allow you to sleep, give proper space for food preparation, has plenty of storage, and gives you safety. In conclusion homes are what you make of them. treat it right and in return you have all the physical and psychological needs.

The Style Files
Today I visited 3 of the 100 interior designs blogs from Like Modern Design Community. The 3 I visited were The Style Files, WowHaus, and Interior Arcade. I believe Interior Design needs to have blogs because its an easy way to get your own style out and this give ideas to others. Not everyone has the same style but they can see something they like and create it their own different way.
The first website I visited was The Style Files. It was created by Danielle de Lange. She uses a more modern look with natural materials. She is the owner of an online store called Le Souk which has  beautiful and unique products for your home.
WowHaus
The second Blog I visited was WowHaus. They like showing interesting properties with modern, old, and fixer uppers. They have pictures of houses on the outside and inside as well.
Interior Arcade
Lounger With Light For Reading Comfort
Interior Arcade
The third blog I visited is Interior Arcade. I picked this one because it has many design ideas. From Kitchens, to bedrooms, to living rooms, they have everything! they show pictures of many fun, colorful, beautiful, and classy things you could put into a room.
There are always many more blogs you can get ideas from as well. Mix and match, DIY, and make it your own style.
